The Palisades Hub

Community, reimagined.
Your Community Gathering Place

Nestled underneath beautiful oaks in a quiet corner of NW DC, the Hub facilities and campus have been a pillar of the Palisades community since the early 1900s, providing a gathering space and refuge from life's harsher realities. Our story is unique, and we encourage you to read about the Hub's journey below. As we evolve and try new things we are committed to preserving this beautiful, historic building for the next 100 years of creative expression and community!

The Hub's Journey

The Hub's home at 5200 Cathedral Ave NW is owned by the Palisades Community Church (PCC), which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023 making it the oldest non-denominational congregation in our nation's capitol. In 2019, the congregation took stock of the challenges it faced managing the large facility as a small congregation. With the guidance of Thrive Impact Consulting Group and significant input from community leaders, the Church decided to form a secular, non-profit organization called the Palisades Hub to take over  operation and management of their facility and campus. The Hub was officially established in 2021.

The Hub is responsible for maintaining a welcoming, warm, accessible, and open space for the community. We are proud to work with many organizations and individuals to provide diverse programming, and we consider those who house their offices in our building to be cherished Community Partners, including the Community Preschool of the Palisades, Palisades Village, Jung Society of Washington and Boy Scout Troop 61 which has been associated with the church for over 100 years!

Since 2021, the Hub has undergone significant improvements, including new flooring and AC systems in the Sanctuary and Social Hall, upgraded meeting rooms and classrooms, and new landscaping with native plants. As the Hub approaches our 6th year of operation, we continue to make improvements to the facility and campus with installation of a solar panel array scheduled for 2025 as well as plans to make the space more accessible and accommodating as budgets allow.

With the continued support of our community we are also upgrading our audio and visual systems with plans for enhanced projection and audio capability in the Sanctuary, multi-track recording, lighting improvements and video capture/live streaming to ensure that the Hub offers performers and audience members a truly unique and comprehensive experience at public events. Many wonderful things have happened at the Hub in the past few years and we can't wait to see what the community dreams up next!
